From being disparaged as a \u201cdance for the lower classes\u201d\u2014something that, from today\u2019s perspective, would actually dignify it\u2014to bans imposed by the Pope, the attacks went that far. Tango survived all of this, yet even today it remains at the center of debates about different topics and viewpoints.<br\/><br\/>Whether it\u2019s gender roles, machismo, feminism, queer tango, acceptance, freedom, or creativity\u2014these are all discussion topics on which there are controversial stances within the worldwide tango community.<br\/><br\/>Moreover, the fundamental question of what actually makes tango tango is still a controversial issue. On the one hand, there are the traditional milongueros who believe that tango has to be danced in a specific way. On the other hand, there are younger tango dancers who are trying to revolutionize the definition of tango.<br\/><br\/>Finally, <a href=\"https:\/\/develop.you-tango.com\/en\/argentine-tango\/\">Argentine tango<\/a> is a form of creative self-expression. But for those who still don\u2019t know her: Alejandra Manti\u00f1an is considered a living tango legend, famous as a dancer with \u201cmagic feet\u201d. In short, her talent and her contribution to the tango community are so great that her name is synonymous with a goddess, a queen, or an icon of tango.<br\/><br\/>Alejandra is also known for the humor that characterizes her dance style. She loves to show funny interludes and playful embellishments that she constantly invents anew. She\u2019s not only a fantastic dancer, but also a perfect entertainer. The audience adores her for it! <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From a young age, Alejandra dreamed of traveling the world as a professional dancer. So anyone who breaks with established norms or <strong>Codigos<\/strong> in order to take new paths toward understanding tango sometimes meets resistance or rejection. <br\/><br\/>Alejandra Actually, I come from ballet and medicine. Yes, from physiology. I worked shifts in hospitals, always in trauma rehabilitation. And even in my own dancing, I\u2019ve always applied all the knowledge I acquired at university, at the Escuela Nacional de Danza, where the basics of anatomy are also taught in the classes. Because it\u2019s clear that for dancing\u2014just like for sports\u2014you need basic knowledge about kinesiology and anatomy.<\/em> &#8230;<br><br><em>When I became a teacher, I didn\u2019t have a model to follow. They said you had to relax, follow the lead, find your embrace, and so on. But I come from academic dance, and there was a lack of theoretical foundation. I try to take things seriously.
